YUMA, Ariz. (AP) — A Yuma County citrus company has been sold to a California group.

The Yuma Sun reports (http://bit.ly/16hTtat) that Associated Citrus Packers was recently sold to Limoneira Company, a 120-year-old international agribusiness headquartered in Santa Paula, Calif.

Limoneira acquired Associated Citrus Packers for around $18.6 million.

ACP owned about 1,300 acres of property in the Yuma area, comprised of approximately 950 acres of productive lemon orchards, 350 acres of other crops and facilities and access to the Colorado River for crop irrigation. The company's packing house, although closed last year, was part of the sale as well.

Last year, Limoneira procured, packed and sold ACP's lemons and the lemons of certain other Yuma area lemon growers.
