Forestry forum planned in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — The LSU AgCenter will host the Central Louisiana Forestry Forum on March 12.

The session is planned from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the evacuation center near the campus of LSU-Alexandria.

The forum will focus on issues facing timber producers, including tax law changes, fuel options for light trucks, the effects of weather patterns on timber, mineral leasing information, pipeline safety and wildfire protection programs.

In addition, Buck Vandersteen, Louisiana Forestry Association director, will talk about current forestry issues.
