John Deere Prom Night

LANCASTER, Pa. — When students Shyanne Murray and Brandon Scheid decided to go to their high school prom together, Brandon was working on restoring a John Deere H tractor. Both of the Penn Manor High School students are involved in agriculture and love John Deere, and thought it would be a great prom theme.

Shyanne, 16, is a sophomore and has been a member of 4-H for three years. She raises beef steers, which she shows at Lampeter Fair, and goats for the Farm Show in Harrisburg. Brandon, 18, Conestoga, Pa., is a senior and an FFA member. While he participates in all aspects of FFA, he particularly enjoys working on engines and growing watermelons. Last year he won first place at the Lampeter Fair and FFA for his 114-pound watermelon.

Their prom was held at the Eden Resort in Lancaster, Pa., on Friday, May 19.
