PINE GROVE, Pa. — Madeline Daubert, the 19-year-old daughter of Ronald Ray and Melanie Daubert, Pine Grove, Pa., was crowned as the 2013-2014 Schuylkill County dairy princess on Sunday, April 14. With over 60 people in attendance at the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Madeline won after she presented a skit and speech on the importance of the dairy industry and the nutrition that dairy can offer.
Also crowned were two alternate dairy princesses: Audrie Wolfe, 19, daughter of Mark and Amy Wolfe of Pine Grove; and Hannah Miller, 17, daughter of Russel and Christine Miller of Tamaqua, Pa.
Junior dairy representatives were also chosen to help the dairy princess with promotions and have the potential to become the dairy princess in the future. Dairy ambassadors include Sarah Palerino, 15, daughter of Jeffrey and Kelly Palerino of Schuylkill Haven, Pa.; Jill Heffner, 15, daughter of Kent and Jodie Heffner of Pine Grove; and Grace Daubert, 14, daughter of Allen and Ann Daubert of Pine Grove.
The four dairy maids include Eva Scheitrum, 11, daughter of William and Christine Scheitrum of New Ringgold, Pa.; Kallie Wolfe, 10, daughter of Eric and Amy Wolfe of Pine Grove; Allison Butler, 10, daughter of Theodore and Tonya Butler of Pine Grove, and Rachel Scheitrum, 9, daughter of William and Christine Scheitrum of New Ringgold.
The lil’ dairy miss is Alexis Bulter, 6, daughter of Theodore and Tanya Butler of Pine Grove.
The Schuylkill County dairy promotion team is already actively promoting the dairy industry during the month of May and looks forward to a full schedule in June, which is National Dairy Month. Madeline and her team have planned several store promotions as well as a giant ice cream sundae at Harrisburg Area Community College and milkshakes at the Harrisburg capital.
When asked about what she looks forward to during her reign, Madeline replied, “For one year I will travel to many schools, food stores, and public meetings telling many people about the goodness of milk. My goal for this year is to reach out to and meet as many people as I can.”
