Twelve McKean County 4-H Livestock Club members sold their market animals at the 33rd annual McKean County 4-H Livestock Sale on Aug. 17 during the McKean County Fair.
The highlight of the sale was the record price paid for a market swine raised by Emma Stratton of $19.50 per pound purchased by Smethport Auto Wash.
The champion market steer was raised by Ryan Stratton and purchased by the Bradford Save-a-Lot store.
The grand champion market lamb was raised by Paul Larson and purchased by Costa’s Supermarket, and the reserve champion lamb was raised by Emma Stratton and purchased by Hamlin Bank & Trust Co.
The grand champion market goat was raised by Stephanie McFall and purchased by Rockin Horse Farm and the reserve champion market goat was raised by Ian Miller and purchased by Stratton Farm.
The grand champion market swine was raised by Chelsea Burkhouse and purchased by Howard Johnston Trucks Inc., and the reserve champion market swine was also raised by Burkhouse and purchased by Hamlin Bank & Trust Co.
