Champions Picked at Blair County Livestock Sale

MARTINSBURG, Pa. — The Blair County 4-H/FFA Livestock Show and Sale was on Aug. 12 and 13 at the Morrison Cove Memorial Park. The judge was Colby Ferguson from Maryland.

The grand champion dairy beef, exhibited by Alexi McMonagle, who also took first place in the junior showman competition, was sold to Ag Choice Farm Credit for $1.70 per pound.

The reserve champion exhibited by Kaydi Brubaker was sold to Dave Clark of Crop Production Services for $1.50 a pound.

The grand champion goat exhibited by Victoria McGregor was sold to Dowey Taxidermy for $4.20 a pound. The reserve champion exhibited by Dana Heltzel was sold to Don Fair and Adam Kauf for $3.75 a pound.

The grand champion lamb exhibited by Paige Pearson, who also won first place in the Senior Showman competition, was sold to Bedford Ford Lincoln Mercury for $7 a pound. The reserve champion exhibited by Josiah Dowey was sold to Bedford Chrysler for $3.10 a pound.

The grand champion swine carcass entered by Tamara Smith was sold to Delgrosso Foods for $3.25 a pound. The reserve champion carcass entered by Aden McMonagle was sold to Frederick Meat for $2.35 a pound.

The grand champion swine exhibited by Caitlynn Fonseca was sold to Marzoni’s for $2.90 a pound. The reserve champion exhibited by Andrew McMonagle was sold to Brenneman’s Meats for $2.10 a pound.

The grand champion beef exhibited by Alana Ritchey was sold to Hoss’s Steak & Sea House for $2.60 a pound. The reserve champion exhibited by Alicia Lane, who also place first in the intermediate showman competition, was sold to Dave and Janet Hileman for $1.50 a pound.
