For those interested in attending this year’s Pennsylvania Dairy Summit, financial aid may be available to help defray the costs.
Through a grant administered by the Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board (WIB), dairy producers and their employees pay a significantly discounted registration fee.
WIB requires producers using the discount to provide all the requested information on the form, including a valid Social Security number for each person.
In addition to the WIB discount, young producers and students enrolled in agriculture degree programs have the opportunity to apply for scholarships from The Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association and the Center for Dairy Excellence to attend Summit.
Applicants must be between the ages of 17-25 as of Feb. 1, 2013 and must currently operate a dairy farm or be enrolled in an agriculture degree program at a college or trade school.
