In addition to hosting several hundred high-quality cattle and exhibitors, the All-American Dairy Show was also the place for a new embryo event. This event raised $4,800 for the All-American Dairy Foundation.

Twenty-two progressive dairy operations, representing the Holstein, Jersey and Milking Shorthorn dairy breeds, donated embryos, some valued at $1,000 each.

Raffle tickets were available for purchase at the show. The winners had a choice of $1,000 or a three-embryo package.

The local winners were Larry Swartz of Biglerville, Pa., and Dr. Morey Miller of Granbury, Ct.

All-American Dairy Foundation Executive Director Bob Heilman said, “We want to thank the embryo donors for their generosity. Each of them has been named a charter member of the foundation.”

The Holstein embryo donors were:

James and Teresa Houser, Penn Dale Farm, Spring Mills, Pa.

Jason and Donna Myers, Winsor Manor, New Winsor, Md.

Jim and Nina Burdette, Windy Knoll View, Mercersburg, Pa.
