Md. Dairy Princess Diary: March Madness

Just like the common saying, I’m hoping that this March will come in like a lion and out like a lamb. Even though there was snow on the ground last week, the warmer weather and flowers starting to bloom has me looking forward to springtime and appreciating the farmers that grow our food and are involved in almost everything we eat.

Last month, I had fun promoting these hardworking farmers and their milk-producing beauties from the barn at the Ceresville New Holland’s pancake breakfast and at the Damascus Heritage Museum, where I played dairy trivia games with visitors, read cow stories and did crafts with the younger visitors. One little girl fell in love with my sparkly crown and was delighted when I helped her make her own tiara out of paper and a headband.

I also had the opportunity to attend the Taste of Maryland Agriculture Dinner, where I once again saw the huge role of farmers in our lives.

Here’s to spring arriving soon and to enjoying it with a glass of milk in hand and green grass ahead.
