CATSKILL, N.Y. (AP) — Fire officials are investigating a blaze that killed thousands of chickens at a Hudson Valley farm.

Albany's WNYT TV reports (http://bit.ly/12xLcff ) that firefighters arrived at Sunrise Farms in Catskill around 2 a.m. Sunday. Officials estimate that between 6,000 and 8,000 chickens died and one of the henhouses was completely destroyed.

The farm is owned by the Lasher family.

Is the EPA being unrealistic in its timeline to reduce farm runoff into the Chesapeake Bay?
