EAST MICHIGAN, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State University is offering residents advice on what to do when the state's blueberry crop arrives next month.

Fresh blueberries grown in Michigan hit stores and farm markets in July and August, and the MSU Extension has guidance for blueberry lovers through its Michigan Fresh program.

A fact sheet contains a variety of suggestions for use, storage and preservation of blueberries.

The preserving section includes a chart for making sugar syrup, instructions for hot and raw packs for canning and expected yields.
