Penn State Extension will offer a free workshop titled “Understand and Protect Your Water Supply and Treatment Systems” twice — 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. — Tuesday, Sept. 9.

Topics will include protecting, testing and treating private water supplies, and septic system inspection and maintenance.

Free drinking water testing will be provided for up to 60 registrants. Results from simple tests can help guide landowners in future testing by accredited labs. Sample collection instructions will be provided.

Instructors will be Diane Oleson, Penn State Extension York County, and Amy Galford, Penn State Extension Cumberland County.
