Profit Call to Discuss New Margin Protection Program

8/23/2014 7:00 AM

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Aug. 27 “Protecting Your Profits” conference call will start at noon and provide an overview of the Farm Bill’s Margin Protection Program for dairy, as well as a quick summary of dairy industry trends and markets, including Livestock Gross Margin for Dairy opportunities. The Margin Protection Program, or MPP, will also be explained in as much detail as is available at that time.

Alan Zepp, risk management program manager for the Center for Dairy Excellence, will host the call. According to Zepp, domestic butter prices and margins are climbing while international butter prices are falling. The call will address this phenomenon and the overall fundamentals of the dairy industry.

LGM-Dairy will be available to purchase again on Aug. 30. The discussion will include past results and current opportunities that this program offers.

“It’s important that today’s dairy professionals build a marketing plan for their future milk sales and feed needs,” Zepp said. During the call, he will discuss LGM-Dairy and review current margin levels available. Callers are encouraged to ask questions and participate in the wrap-up discussion.

These calls are free, but registration is needed to obtain the call information. To register, contact the Center for Dairy Excellence at 717-346-0849 or info<\@>
