Panel to Spotlight Trends in Chester County Agriculture

The Chester County Agricultural Development Council and Chester County Economic Development Council’s AgConnect will present a panel discussion on the most recent ag census data and what it means for the county, 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Chester County Economic Development Council office, 737 Constitution Drive, Exton, Pa.

Panelists will include King Whetstone II, director of the USDA-National Agricultural Statistics Service’s Northeastern Region; dairy producer Duane Hershey, owner of Ar-Joy Farms LLC; and Chris Alonzo, mushroom grower and owner of Pietro Industries.

There will also be a presentation on how the 2012 Census of Agriculture data was collected and what the numbers show for Chester County and the surrounding region.
