Schuylkill County Presents Conservation Awards

The Schuylkill Conservation District presented its annual awards during a luncheon ceremony on Aug. 20 at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park.

Anne Paisley of Barnesville was named Volunteer of the Year, and Gail Senich of Pottsville was named Educator of the Year.

Shane Kleiner of Wilkes-Barre was named Professional of the Year, and Jack Holcomb of Reading received the Media Conservation Award.

Craig Morgan and Dr. Scott Fellows of Pine Grove shared the Forest Stewardship Award, and the Schuylkill County Visitors Bureau of Pottsville was named Organization of the Year.

Weiner Iron & Metal Corp. and its owner, Steve Fields, of Pottsville received the Conservation Service Award-Business.

A team of boys from Tri-Valley Junior/Senior High School in Hegins was named Conservationist of the Year, and Brianna Shealer of Schuylkill County Cooperative Extension, Pottsville, received the Conservation Service Award-General Public.

Leiby Family Farms of Tamaqua was named Conservation Farm of the Year, and Paul Lohin of Minersville received the Conservation Award of Public Service.
