The Penn State Fruit Research and Extension Center will hold a field day 12:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at 290 University Dr., Biglerville, Pa.
Sessions will be presented on the science of dormant pruning in high-density apple plantings, labor-efficient technologies for apple and peach production, fruit-tree training systems, NC-140 rootstock trials and scab-resistant apple cultivars, monitoring and management options for brown marmorated stink bugs, effects of invasive pests on integrated pest management programs, understanding a new insect pest, pollinator protection and management, biological control of pests by using selective pesticides, managing pesticide resistance in tree fruit diseases, alternatives for controlling tree fruit diseases, and mitigating the risk of antibiotic resistance in bacterial spot management.
