Commissioners Designate Land Conservancy of Adams County Month’

The Adams County commissioners have proclaimed March 14-April 21 as Land Conservancy of Adams County Month.

The month began Thursday with the organization’s annual dinner and concludes with its 16th annual Art Auction on April 21 at the Blue Parrot Bistro, 35 Chambersburg St., Gettysburg.

Since its inception, the Land Conservancy of Adams County has helped to protect more than 7,720 acres with more than 122 easements on properties throughout the county.

Seventy-eight easements totaling 3,650 acres were donated by landowners, and 44 easements totaling 4,070 acres have been purchased through a variety of local, state and federal grants.
