The Pennsylvania Beef Council will conduct a Beef Quality Assurance recertification and classroom training session on Thursday, May 9, at the Mercer County Extension Office, 463 N. Perry Highway, Mercer, Pa.

The Recertification class will run 6-7 p.m. followed by a classroom training 7-9 p.m. for producers new to the BQA program that are interested in becoming certified.

The classroom training session is the first level of a two-part program and teaches beef producers in best management practices as a way to help them improve their beef’s value.

The second part of the training is a chute-side session, where producers see the effects and outcomes of shots in the meat depending on the route of administration and type of product given.

For questions or to register, contact Nichole Hockenberry at the Pennsylvania Beef Council, 888-423-3372 or nhockenberry<\@>
