NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — New Holland will be awarded two Agritechnica silver medals for combine harvester innovations during the international agricultural equipment exhibition later this month in Han<\h>over, Germany.
The Opti-Speed strawwalker system and the Cornrower header were among 33 innovations selected for the award from 393 submissions.
“New Holland is committed to developing innovations which bring practical benefits to the world’s farmers,” said Carlo Lambro, brand president for New Holland Agriculture. “We, together with the world’s farmers, have the great responsibility of maximizing sustainable food and energy production.”
The Opti-Speed strawwalker technology is available on the CX8000 Elevation range of super conventional combines. The system delivers up to 10 percent higher productivity by automatically varying the strawwalker speed based on the field’s gradient.
The Cornrower header provides one-pass swathing, which reduces operating costs and improves bale density by up to 15 percent.
This one-pass system reduces fuel consumption as well as limiting in-field compaction. Furthermore, all corn stover is chopped and remains free from dirt and stones.
